Christmas Letter, 2024

Merry Christmas! It's me again, Magnolia! I have been writing my family’s Christmas letter for the past few years, and I am so excited to write another one! This year I am going to tell you what's going on with each member of my family.

I’ll start with the oldest:

Mom (Blair)--This year Mom has been working so hard with so many things! She has continued making delicious sourdough. She makes the BEST loaf bread for me and my siblings' lunches and let me tell you--it is a crowd pleaser! Mom also just started a new part-time job helping run social media for a cool leather bag company. Though she works really hard on her job she still finds lots of time to be with me and my siblings. She has also been having more and more photoshoots this year and I would say (and my family would agree) that she is now a pro-photographer.

Dad (David)--This year has been a busy but good year for Dad! He has gotten more and more clients for paintings and has done a fantastic job on them. Dad is currently working on the electrical and plumbing for the new house, and he is working so so hard. We are hoping to get moved in the beginning of spring! Dad still finds time to spend with us even in the midst of his work. He is currently reading The Lord Of the Rings to us and we are really enjoying it. Dad surprised us with a beach trip in September! We had so much fun and we got to share the beach house with some close friends.

Me (Magnolia)--This year I turned 13 and started 8th grade! This year has been a fun year for me. I am a huge book lover, and I have read about 20 big chapter books (one of my favorite series that I’ve read is called Fablehaven). You can find me in the kitchen too. I love to bake! I also picked up crochet at the end of last year and I'm really enjoying it. I have started selling some of the things I make like my Scrappy Pets (you might of seen them on my instagram). I went to camp again this year and had a blast! The only downer was that I broke my humerus in half on an inflatable the 4th day. It was hard, but in the trial I felt God’s nearness and have been closer to Him than I was before.

Henry--This year Henry turned 11 and started 5th grade. Well, we would say that if he was going to school he would be in 5th grade, but he is far beyond that. Henry is a math lover! Right now he is doing pre-algebra and he’s not even in middle school yet! Though Henry is great at school, he also loves to be outside. A lot of times I will look out the upstairs window and see him playing in the woods with Mary Rose and Joseph. Henry--just like my dad--is an amazing builder! He loves building all sorts of things, whether it’s lego houses or cars, forts, or helping Dad with the house! Henry also went back to camp this year, and he had lots of fun because some of his good buddies got to go with him.

Mary Rose--This year Mary Rose turned 8 and started 3rd grade! She is becoming a very strong reader and is right now working on her times tables. Mary Rose is very athletic! This year her and Henry did cross-country. Mary Rose ran so well! One time she even got a ribbon for placing 8th out of 70+ girls! This year Mom and Dad got her some gymnastic equipment and she is hoping to start gymnastics soon. Mary Rose had her first year of camp this year and had lots of fun but likes being at home much better.

Joseph--This year Joseph turned 4 and he is doing pre-school! He is learning the alphabet, how to write his name, and numbers. He is very excited to learn how to read next year! He is such a cute younger sibling, but now I would say that he he has some attitude and is his own person. He is very creative and is making new creations all the time. He is very good at drawing people we have many of his drawings on our fridge. Joseph really enjoys playing with Henry and is always asking to do things with him. Joseph’s memory is so good--sometimes his recall startles Mom and Dad.

We are so glad to have you in our lives. Whether you’re family or friends, we are very thankful for you! We hope that this new year will hold good tidings for you. Again, Merry Christmas! And a Happy New Year!

Much Love, The McLeods
